Old and New

There is a certain appreciation of the sexiness of a classic lugged steel frame that is just impossible to resist. I recall reading on Tips for Happy Riding on Rivendell's website:

“Feel comfortable mixing high tech and low tech, old and new parts and technologies, and don't apologize to anybody for it.”

So off we went on this project putting a very modern build on a classic steel frame. The frame in question is the 2010 Masi Speciale Primio featuring double butted steel tubing a lugged steel fork. To this steel machine we added a full SRAM Force groupo and SRAM Wheels. In addition we did a Ritchey WCS cockpit and wing carbon bar. Topped off with the Retro Flite Saddle and Look pedals we have a build that would be right at home on the fanciest of carbon fiber bikes. But by combining a new build with classic retro flare its a real head turner guaranteed to spark a few conversations. It is certainly one of the lightest steel bikes I have handled in a while.
